Reflexology

Reflexology is a a non-invasive and relaxing complementary therapy. It works on the principle that specific areas of your feet (reflex points) correspond to the different areas of your body. By applying gentle pressure to these reflexes, imbalances in the body can be corrected and areas of tension are released, encouraging energy to flow more freely throughout the body.

What to expect

On your first visit a confidential medical history will be taken. You will then recline on a couch whilst your feet are worked on. During the treatment some reflex points might feel tender,  indicating an area of imbalance in the body. The sensitivity will vary from one person to another, but the treatment should not be uncomfortable.

The full treatment can last up to an hour and at the end of  the session your feet should feel warm and you should be relaxed. The number of treatment sessions required will vary depending on the condition being worked on.

Reflexology provides an excellent way of releasing stress and tension. Its gentle nature makes it suitable for people of all ages from babies through to those later in life.

Facial reflexology for wellness

A gentle and non-invasive treatment based on the principle that reflex points on your face are connected to every area of your body and that stimulating the reflexes helps to balance the corresponding body parts.  Facial reflexology rebalances the body, whilst being calming and uplifting.535074_1250736238277183_8138097271378767258_n

Facial Reflexology aims to relieve headaches, migraines, sinus congestion, digestive issues, teeth grinding and stress.

I have been trained in the Bergman Method (by Ziggie Bergman), which has been developed over 20 years of working with therapists from around the world and is based on “Zone therapy”, which forms the basis of modern Reflexology.

Spinal Reflexology

This powerful form of reflexology is based on stimulating the spinal reflexes (each individual vertebra) on the feet to identify nerve roots out of balance. A nerve root exits through the vertebrae to reach specific organs and muscles.

Often you can feel sensitivity in the spine even if you have no back problems. Spinal Reflexology can help to identify what reflexes are really out of balance, in order to correct imbalances in parts, organs and systems of the body.

Spinal reflexology can be incorporated into your usual reflexology treatment or can be a stand-alone treatment.

Benefits

  • can promote healing by working on the spinal nerve root and helping to open the neural pathway
  • can increase blood flow to reduce local swelling and chronic inflammation
  • can enhance absorption and distribution of analgesics and anti-inflammatory agents so they are more effective
  • can help with natural pain relief
  • can work non-invasively on the spine to help reduce the pain and tension of back aches
  • can access spinal nerve roots to directly treat the problem of referred pain
