I discovered Yoga about five years ago after feeling that running didn’t feel right anymore. I loved the transformation that I saw in my body. I looked leaner, felt stronger and was much more flexible, but it wasn’t just the physical changes that I noticed, I felt a deep sense of calm.
I initially decided to do the yoga teacher training as a way to deepen my own practice. I wanted to know more about the foundations of yoga and the importance of perfect alignment.
The Atmananda Sequence training provided me with this. I feel privileged to have been trained by Jhon Tamayo, the founder of the Atmananda Yoga Sequence on his first teacher training course in Europe.
I now teach using the Atmananda Yoga Mat, which was designed with mathematically placed shapes and lines ensuring perfect alignment. The correct placement of hands and feet on the right size mat according to your height, results in less stress on the joints and ligaments. The mat is perfect for teaching beginners through to more advanced yogi’s.
I teach a form of Vinyasa flow with influences from Hatha, Iyengar & Ashtanga yoga. The sequence is made up of the 7 asanas including standing poses, balancing poses, forward bends, backbends, inversions, spinal twists and seated poses, which can be adapted for beginners. I strongly believe that yoga is for any body, the only flexibility needed is the flexibility of the mind.
Yoga is a perfect tool that can be used alongside other sports and activities. It can lead to an improvement in posture and breathing, boost energy levels and improve health and increase tone, strength and flexibility.
I am available for one to one, couples or small private classes in Cuffley or if you prefer I can come to your home.
During August I will be running Beginners Workshops. Contact me for more details!
